Spanking the Rally Monkey
 In a very l-o-n-g game, the Angels managed to out-slug the Giants last night, 11-10, to even the World Series at one game apiece. A friend of mine who lives on Orangewood Ave. in Garden Grove CA, just a couple of miles from Angel Stadium (oh, excussssse me, I mean "Edison Field"), sent this pithy email today:
The game last night, the second of the World Series, was celebrated in Orange County till the wee hours -- honking, screaming people in cars -- amazing!!!
Of course, cynics might point out that "honking, screaming people in cars" is an everyday feature of the Southern California commute. Maybe the difference is, the drivers weren't shooting at each other.
